Thank you for visiting our new Internet site. As an up-to-date business, we want to give you the opportunity to stay in touch with our company and our offers.
Carmen Information Consulting is only one year old. We started by assisting a historical society in inventorying and cataloging their rare mine maps. We found that many small institutions, and personal collectors are in need of some assistance in organizing and preserving their documents.
Our mission is to help small organizations such as: churches, departments of colleges and universities, historical societies, libraries, and museums organize information. We believe archives are a true source of research, often holding primary sources not found anywhere else.
In brief, you should know the following about us: our company began in 2008 and has been responsible for providing basic cataloging and accessioning services ever since. We are constantly working on networking with our colleagues, and attending educational trainings to learn the best procedures developed for information management. Our regular customers particularly value our direct procedures and affordable prices.
Many people find their personal papers, or their families’ papers, have grown into great collections which can become overwhelming; they don’t know what to do with them or where to start. We are here for you. Generations of photos, correspondence, diaries, and scrape-books can become a burden to any family. Instead of leaving basements or storage sheds full of documents to your family, consider organizing your collections to be given to a historical society or a museum. These entities are more readily able to accept gifts of collections if they are inventoried and organized before they are given away. This is where we come in. We are affordable and can organize your information into a way that is searchable and manageable for any institution. Perhaps you just need to get started and shown how to organize it yourself. We are eager to share our ideas with you, and enable you to organize your information for future research use. If you have information collections that are in need of organization, please contact us. We also offer consultation on best practices in preservation and archival procedures.
